Marie Hopkins attended URI and Brown University. A registered nurse, she currently teaches at CCRI and is also employed as a substitute school nurse for the City of Warwick.
Marie is a first responder who has worked as a forensic and a criminal psych nurse for the State of Rhode Island. She has also worked as a psychiatric and addiction care nurse. Marie is in a unique position to assess health needs and reforms - as she has worked up close with seniors, veterans, and others in the acute healthcare setting.
Marie is running on the Republican ticket. Many political issues are local issues - and as someone who has been connected to this community for so long, her values closely align with most Rhode Islanders (and the Warwick community, specifically).
Rhode Island has been a one-party system for too long. This year is the year that can change. Its important that our government has diverse points of view. Marie will bring a fresh, new voice.
Marie supports term limits. She believes in responsible spending with a focus on value and limiting taxation. There is room for improvement in our educational system, our health care system, and our State budget planning. Statewide overhaul and reform, by electing a candidate who represents your needs, is the way forward for Rhode Island.
